Staten Island Feeds It Forward is a group of community members who believe that, with the help of local business owners, we can help defeat food insecurity in our neighborhood.
SIFIF is grateful to welcome Oakwood Heights Community Church Food Pantry to our network. Over the last few months, Oakwood Heights Community Church has sponsored several pop-up food pantries. In addition, we try to assist any additional requests for food, including deliveries to those homebound, grab-and-go bags, and supermarket gift cards. OHCC will be distributing vouchers from our East Shore Food Distribution Partners.
More information about OHCC’s ministry can be found at http://www.myohcc.org
SIFIF member, Mary Ellen, and Reverend Carter of Stapleton’s UAME Church hosted a food pantry this week! We are honored to welcome UAME Church as SIFIF’s latest distribution partner. They will be distributing Feed It Forward vouchers for St. George, Tompkinsville, and Rosebank food establishments.

Staten Island Feeds It Forward was the “Deep Breath Moment” in the NYS Update of February 9, 2021.
|Tonight’s “Deep Breath Moment”: A group of Staten Island residents have come together to form “Staten Island Feeds It Forward,” an initiative that helps food-insecure Staten Islanders while supporting local restaurants. Founded by Mariana Ortega, the organization connects nonprofits with restaurants. Patrons of participating restaurants can “pay forward” meals or other bites using receipt vouchers—which are then given out by nonprofits to those in need. Learn more about the organization and how to get involved.|
We’re growing! A special thank you to Pamela Silvestri at the Staten Island Advance for featuring and following our program!
